Happy 4th Birthday to my Big Boy!

I'm a day late (and the Mother of the Year Award goes to....Kim Zustiak!) on this one.
My baby boy (yep, the very same one in these pictures) turned 4 yesterday.

You know how everyone tells you, "It goes by so fast"? Well, it truly does! Now, I must say that first 1-2 months? Not so fast. In fact, they were probably the toughest weeks of my life. But I wouldn't trade them for anything. That was the time when I first learned how to be a mom.

And I'm still learning.

Now, I have a boy who hasn't worn diapers for a year.
He has lost the pull-ups at night as of 2 nights ago. (So far, so good.)

He's obsessed with all things Lightning McQueen.
He practices writing his letters, and he spells his name.

He sings songs--both ones he's been taught, and the ones he made up himself.

He loves to take care of his baby sister and helps tuck her in every night.

He helps me do laundry (although, the folding skills need a little refinement). If I cooked more often, he'd love nothing more than to help with that.

Lately, he's been proudly showing off his vertical jump (he's got a whole 2 inch vertical).

He practices his soccer and basketball.
His knees just barely clear the handlebar on his red tricycle. (When did that happen?)

He planted a "garden" last week and he loves watching it sprout.
He thinks his red crocs go with everything.

He loves playing with flashlights.
He's starting to learn about computer and video games.

Tomorrow, he goes to his first ever day camp.

Next week, he'll be filling out college applications. (I'm sure it'll feel like next week, anyhow.)

Happy Birthday Con-Man!

Happy Birthday!

Oh, I remember the tricycle knees thing, too.... A true sign that they're growing up.

Happy Bday 1 day late CONNOR!

I remember when you were a few months old too & laying you on your tummy for some tummy time.

And about a year ago, when your mommy asked you what you were doing & you said, "breathing."

I think red crocs go with everything too - you're a crocaholic like me.

Have fun at your party!! :)

I agree...the first two months go by really slow...then it's super fast. Or at least, the days are long but the years are short. :)
I remember when you came to visit when he was so tiny...his diapers seemed so incredibly little next to Eva's pull-ups.
Happy Birthday Conner! And Happy Being a Mom Anniversary to you, Kim!
