So, two weeks since my last entry....apparently that's how things are going to be from now until Feb. 8. Right now, here's what's happening in my neck of the woods:
- I am currently procrastinating on my last 2 assignments for my current graduate class.
- I am stupid enough to have registered for 3 more classes next semester (2 of which are both the first 8 weeks).
- I am about 3 weeks into The Wizard of Oz and I already wake up at 4:30 every morning on the verge of throwing up from the stress.
- I haven't worked out in like a week because by the time I get home, all I want to do is sit.
- I can't just sit away every evening, because evidently you are supposed to feed your young and not allow them to live in utter filth.
- Laundry pretty much makes me want to play in traffic.
On the other hand, there have been a few good things as of late:
- We have already gone to see Santa. We went on the first day so that we could get a good photo (they can spend more time letting the kids warm up to him and such when no one is breathing down your neck). Unfortunately, the lady whose one job was to click the camera button was too busy talking during the 10-second time frame when both of my children were seated on Santa's lap shouting "CHEESE". She did, however, get this picture:
We have also already gotten our Christmas photos taken and back, including the cards (which are already addressed and almost ready to go). I will actually get them sent out before Christmas Eve this year!- We had a nice thanksgiving with my mom's side of the family yesterday. Thursday, we'll spend the day with my dad's side of the family, and my Grandma is (hopefully) going to come spend the night with us as well as Friday. She'll be here as we decorate for Christmas and we'll watch all kinds of Christmas movies and shows!! I'm very excited about this, because it's not often that we get her to ourselves (I'm one of 18 grand-children on this side.)
- Tomorrow evening, my little sister has volunteered to babysit so taht we can go out to dinner and do some Christmas shopping (we have to go and secure the items that were requested of Santa!).
- I will go work out tomorrow after school. Since it's a half day for the kids, I don't have rehearsal until 5:00 and I'm going to the Y!! So clear off the treadmills and make way for Kim!
And this is the biggest good thing from the last few weeks:
- Connor and Riley have just been so much fun lately!! They get along relatively well (not always, but a good 90% of the time), and they are so creative with their play. Connor's new favorite is to play "pretend school". Unfortunately, he will constantly ask us to pretend to be teachers. Since this is what we do most of the time (pretend to be a teacher, that is), we don't really want to participate at home. But, we oblige. Both of my kids are such snuggle bugs, and I'm so thankful for that. I get tons of hugs and kisses every day. They make me laugh all the time. And they are possibly even more excited about Christmas than I am!!! I'm so excited about the Christmas season this year and we are going to have so much fun sharing it with our kids! There will be many photos (eventually), so check back in.
And I'll try to write more frequently.
