Ahhh, That's Better!

Something was screwy with my computer for the past couple of weeks and I was unable to login to my blog. I've been so very sad...But, now I'm back and better than ever!

So, here's the latest scoop:

I'm almost finished with all of my work for my current graduate classes. I'm enrolled in 6 hours (2 courses). One of them I have wrapped up (as of last night), and I have an A. The second one...well, that's another story. I'm getting closer and closer. I've done a TON of work in the past 2-3 days for that class. I now only have 2 smaller assignments to do (which will happen tomorrow), and I'm taken care of!!! Then, I start another class (which, thankfully, is a non-core class and therefore much less work) for the second 8 weeks. After that, I only have 3 more classes and the comps, and I'M FINISHED!!!! I WILL graduate in July. Woo-hoo!!!

This week, I get to take students to my old stomping grounds for district speech and debate contest. I always enjoy this weekend because I get to see former college classmates who are also now teaching and we get to catch up a little. It's also fun to get to go and have fun with my students. We can kind of kick back a little bit and just enjoy each other. I've really had fun with my theatre kids this year (can't say the same for a few of my students in class, but, you can't win 'em all).

As for the homefront: Riley has pink eye!! Let me tell you just how much fun putting drops in the eyes of the unwilling is. Not much fun at all, actually. In fact, it kind of makes me want to throw myself of the roof. On the other hand, Riley and Mommy had a great day of fun snuggling together yesterday as we waited for her doctor's appointment. That's always a bonus.

Connor is getting smarter every day. Except for earlier this week, when he chose to bite one of his classmates. I have no idea where he got that idea from. He's never even attempted biting out of anger/frustration before (and trust me, his sister pushes the limits of his patience on a daily basis). Needless to say, not one of my proudest mommy-moments. But, we have used the incident as a spring-board for discussing how to properly vent one's frustrations. And, after a thorough reaming from Mom and the consequential assurances that I do, indeed, still love him, Connor now understands the severity of what he did (and the fact that doing it again could get him kicked out of his pre-school). PS--In just over 1 week, we take Connor to his kindergarten screening. I'm not very sure how the little boy who once grew in my belly is getting screened for actual big-kid school, but apparently it's happening.

And today, I finally got a decent work out in for the first time in 3 weeks. The week of the musical just shipwrecked my good exercising habits. But I hereby declare that today I get back on the wagon. I ran a 5-K and then did 15 minutes on the elliptical before doing my strength-training. Hopefully I can muster the energy to get back in there tomorrow and in the evenings this coming week. The spirit's willing, but the flesh is weak. Please say a few prayers asking for motivation for my weak flesh this week!

And a final note--I finally did it. I've been toying around with the idea for 3-4 months now, and today I bit the bullet. I got 5 inches cut off my hair. It's neck-length now. I'll post some photos soon. It will never look as good as when Jessica styled it today, but I shall try my best. (If I'd been smart, I would have taken some pictures before I put it up in a pony-tail--the world's teeniest, tiniest pony tail--to go work out this afternoon. Ah, well...an opportunity missed, I guess.)

Alrighty--now I should go back upstairs and pretend to be a part of my family. The poor people have been almost completely neglected by me (with the exceptions of a few dinners prepared and loads of laundry washed--not folded and put away, just washed) for the past 2 weeks as I've frantically tried to get my homework finished. Now, I must go reintroduce myself to my chilren before I put them in the tub.

Glad to see you back, my friend. Congrats on the school work and good luck with the working out. Unfortunately, a visit from my mom followed by a sick baby have both contributed to my not working out for almost a week. Yikes!

Hurry up and get back on the horse--I had too much down time and it's killed me!
