I'm Still Here, I Swear!

It's been a while, huh?

Forgive me, I've been pretty busy.

I held auditions for Grease at school a few weeks back, and now we're in full swing with rehearsals for what is proving to be the ADD Theatre Company's best musical EVER. We're having a good time--sometimes too good a time. But the show is taking shape. I can't wait to see how it turns out, but we still have over 2 months, which is good, because there's still a LOT of work to be done.

Last weekend, we drove to Joplin to visit Caleb's family for Thanksgiving. We had a great time with the family. Games were played, lemon pies were enjoyed. Winter coats were left behind at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Thanks heavens for Grandma Mary and the USPS for getting the coats back to their rightful home before today's cold snap!

Casa Zustiak is almost completely decked out for the holidays. The tree is up (one of them, anyway), the Christmas village is all lit up, the nativity scene is out, the stockings are hung (ready for St. Nick to stop by this weekend!), and Caleb has hung lights on the outside of the house this year (at Connor's request). We just need to finish decorating the kids' little trees and the tree in the basement, and we're all set (except for the Christmas shopping, and the gift wrapping). My Christmas cards are almost finished--just a few more addresses to finish up and then the dreaded task of sealing the envelopes (paper-cut on the tongue, here we come!). I just LOVE this time of year!!!!!!!!!!

And finally, I'm making this public--in the hopes that doing so will keep me motivated enough to see this one through: my little sister and some folks at school have talked me into training to run in the St. Louis half marathon in April. I've finally made it to my goal weight (although, there's still some fat left to lose...), now it's time to work on my endurance a bit more. Wish me luck!

I know that after a 3 week hiatus there should be much more for me to share here. In fact, I'm sure that there is more I could share. And if I had more energy right now, I would share it and make it sound really funny. But I can't do that at this point, because well, after a full day of teaching, musical rehearsal, mom-duties and a 6 mile run, I'm wiped and I just want to go veg on the couch for a bit before I hit the sack. I just wanted to check in and let you know that I'm not dead--just dead tired--and that the rest of the family is doing well these days, too.

Congrats on reaching your goal and good luck on the training. It is tough to stick to, but very rewarding to complete a half.
