So last Saturday was both Halloween and my Birthday (aka my weight loss deadline). Suffice it to say that I did not meet my goal, but I only missed it by 2 stubborn pounds (also known as pumpkin rolls that I ordered from a school fundraiser, birthday cheesecake and early Halloween candy that I just could not resist). I came very close, and once I get rid of all the kids' Halloween loot, I'll be on my way again.
Speaking of Halloween...did I mention how cute my munchkins were? Grandma Mary volunteered her services and made my children into a beautiful princess and an awesome dragon for Halloween:

It wasn't much in the way of a birthday, but I long ago resigned myself to the fact that I no longer got a birthday on my actual birthday once I had children. It was, however a GREAT Halloween. The kids had a blast going trick-or-treating and wearing their costumes; Caleb and I are really enjoying the loot they collected that night.
A good time was had by all.
And in other news...
My younger sister Sara
finally had her baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was really hoping that Baby Katelyn would make her debut on Halloween, but she had other plans that day, I suppose. on Tuesday, Nov. 3 my sister went to the hospital to be induced. About 24 hours later, Katelyn decided she was ready to come to the light. She's probably one of the top 10 cutest babies ever born:

She weighed in at a healthy 7 lbs 10 oz and is 21 inches long. As you can see, she has plenty of dark hair. We aren't sure about her eye color just yet--only time will tell. Mom and baby went home from the hospital this morning, and other than being a bit tired, everyone is doing well!
