Connor received the Kung Fu Panda dvd for Christmas, and he's become a big fan. In the early portion of the movie, the panda is having a slight coming-of-age crisis. (You need to know this bit of information for the rest of this story to make sense.)
So, the other night, the Con-Man is watching his new film while I was cleaning the kitchen before bed time. Below is the transcript of a conversation between the two of us:
C: Mom, when will I get to leave this house?
K: Buddy, it's almost bed time. We're not going anywhere tonight.
C: No! I mean, when will I go live somewhere else?
K: Oh, that won't be for a long time. First you need to go to school, and grow up and then get a job so that you can pay for your own place. Until then, you'll live with Mommy and Daddy.
C: (Thinks for a moment.) Will you help me find a place?
K: Yes buddy, when it's time for you to move out, I'll help you find somewhere to live.
Poor kid, thinks we're about to give him the boot at the ripe old age of 4.5!!

If he's ready to leave, I know somewhere...just down the road. With two roommates about his age.
Ahhh, my day is now complete. Another wonderful Connorism to add to the bunch.
Love the new/old look of the blog, by the way. How'd you get that picture up there?
Beth, I emailed the photo info to you.
PS--what are you doing up and on the computer at 5:39 a.m. (or maybe it was 6:39 for you, either way...)? That is much too early to be functioning at such a high level!!
