Let the Craziness Begin!

Today was Tuesday.

As of today, Tuesday means the following:
  1. Get up, go to school (be there with a smile on my face by 7:00 a.m., thank you very much)
  2. Manage to make it through the day of attempting to teach things, and keep up with all the paperwork (show stuff--tickets, program information, scene change outlines, scene designs, props lists, t-shirt order forms, receipts, purchase orders, etc.) flying across my desk
  3. Around 3rd hour, taking migraine medicine with a can of Coke
  4. Get through both vocal and staging rehearsals with the kids
  5. Kick them out of my classroom, and stop by the concession stand (which is thankfully open because of the home basketball game) for a fattening pretzel to be eaten on the way to a different high school for my own class (in which I'm a student, not the teacher)
  6. Suffer through a 20-something year-old video on trends in education
  7. Leave class, stop by the store to pick up a few things (including the spray starch that I've been forgetting to buy for the last 2 weeks, rendering most of my clothing unwearable)
  8. Finally returning to my house at approximately 7:45 to hang out with my kiddos for a few minutes before bedtime
  9. Changing into running attire and heading (through the "Arctic Chill") to the Y for a 5+ mile run
  10. Finally getting home and moving the laundry along
  11. Computer socializing (my husband sent me an e-love-note!)
  12. When I'm done here, I'll be switching to Word so that I can type up my homework for my class, then I'll do a little work on show
  13. Then, I can finally go to bed in order to get up tomorrow and start all over again
And miles to go before I sleep. And miles to go before I sleep....

You make me tired. I don't know how you do it, I just don't. Those kids at your school have no idea how lucky they are to have a teacher as dedicated as you are. You rock!

I'm not sure how I manage it, either. What i do know is that I will be going to bed early tonight (without a trip to the Y), and that my new student teacher ROCKS. She's already helping out with the show and helping fix the things I haven't had the time to fix. I am only going to get through the next 4 weeks because of her!!

Oh, and I'm pretty lucky to have most of the students I have, too. (A few of them not so much....)
