Happy Birthday (a day late ) to Riley! WARNING: This blog entry comes with many photos!

2 years and 2 days ago, this is what I looked like:

2 years and 1 day ago, this is what Riley looked like:

Cousin Emily just couldn't bear to leave Riley by herself on the tanning bed, so she "read" to her:

Mommy and her girl:

Pretty in Pink:

Early on, Riley figured out which holiday she likes best:

We were supposed to be nursing in this picture, but Cleo (the cat) always came over to play the second that we got the Boppy pillow in place.

Sometimes a good green bean meal just plum tuckers you out!

She's always loved books.

She also loves her big brother.

Riley, Age 1

Now I have a big girl on my hands. She thinks she needs to climb on everything. She thinks she must do everything for herself ("I do it!"), until she gets frustrated and screams until Mommy or Daddy takes care of the issue.

She no longer believes in sitting buckled into a shopping cart.

She only has one speed--fast.

She only has one volume--loud.

She loves singing with my Jersey Boys cd. (Eventually, I will post her singing along with Walk Like a Man.)

She tries so hard to get herself dressed, but sometimes she just comes up short.
She loves her baby dolls, yogurt, books, "Beggie Tales", shoes and coloring.

She is definitely Daddy's Girl (but Mommy will suffice when Daddy's not around).

Happy 2nd Birthday to my big, blue-eyed girl who loves to wash her own hands, brush her own teeth and put on her own shoes. And, by the way, do you think you could stop growing up so quickly?

Oh, Riley, you have grown so fast! It seems like it was not very long ago at all that your daddy called to say you were born but I was busy rushing Miss Eva to PromptCare for a mysterious fast-spreading rash so I was a little distracted when I took the call. Luckily, after hooking Eva up with some benadryl, I got to call back and get all your stats. And still later, I met your Mommy at Barnes and Noble and held you for the first time.
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

Little Miss Riley's already 2?!?!?! How can it be?? I remember our first pizza date when you were just a tiny thing. We need to have another one of those soon, OK?
