So Caleb started school today. It was official when the school bus drove by our house this morning. It still seems wrong.
Anyway, I'm still on summer vacation (for one more day, anyhow) and the kids and I went to the Y for my last class this morning. When we came home, daddy called from work to let me know that his car barely made it to school this morning.
Now, let me explain for those of you who do not know...Caleb's car is the hubcap-less wonder. It's been driving for a long time, since approximately 1994 (it's a '94, so it might have been out on the road since summer/fall of '93!). We bought it from my friend's sister shortly after we got married 8 years ago, and have driven the snot out of it. I shudder to think of how many miles that thing has on it.
We've fixed numerous things on this particular vehicle. But this time may just be the last time...I called the shop and they said it's the ignition coil. I'm currently waiting to find out how much it will cost to replace such a critter. If it's a lot, then we very well may be going emergency car shopping over the next few days. I hate to have to go in such a state of desperation--those salesmen can smell that coming from miles away--but we're going to have to do what we've got to do. Hopefully that will be paying once again to fix Caleb's car, since I just renewed the plates on Monday.
Grrr....

Oh, the woes of vehicle ownership! We've sung those blues ourselves many, MANY times. And Murphy's Law clearly states that anything that CAN go wrong with a car WILL go wrong within 7 days of renewing your tags. Good luck!
