Weigh-In wednesday

Only 6.6 pounds to go, and I still have until the end of October!

Before you go getting too excited about my progress, you might notice that I failed to post an update last week. Had I remembered, that update would have said "Only 6 pounds left to go."

That's right. I'm up 6/10 of a pound from last week.

This may or may not be because there was some definite comfort food/stress eating this weekend.

By the time I got home on Friday (the end of the first week of school), all I could handle was junk. We stopped at the store and picked up mozzarella sticks, mozzarella bites (because, let's face it, the sticks just weren't enough) and toasted ravioli. Now, I did restrain myself, and instead of plopping these things in the deep fryer, I baked them. You might notice a distinct lack of fruits and vegetables, though. There was also ice cream for dessert. (Not to mention the Oreo appetizers that the kids made me buy...)

Then, on Saturday, guess what we had for lunch? The same thing that we had for dinner the night before plus watermelon.

So I kind of had a big, bad binge weekend, and to make matters worse, I only exercised on Sunday. However, Sunday's exercise was most impressive. For the first time EVER, I ran 5 miles outside. For those of you not familiar with running, there is a vast difference between running on a treadmill and running outside. The latter is much, MUCH more challenging for the body, and much harder on the joints. But the weather was just perfect for it. And now that I have my tiny iPod shuffle, I can go running outdoors--at the park, not on the road.

Then, last night I was feeling motivated by my latest accomplishment. I was running at the Y again. I managed to run 6 miles on the treadmill. I've never run that distance before (treadmill or outdoors).

My energy level is finally back up to where it should be, where it was before I had to start taking all of these meds. Now the challenge is going to be sustaining it since school has started back up.

Keep your fingers crossed for me!

That's fantastic!!! Good for you. And hey, sometimes you need to fall off the wagon just so that you can get yourself back on the right way. That's all I have in the way of metaphors right now. You're almost there!! Send me some of your motivation, will ya?
