Blog Overload

Hi. My name is Kim, and I'm a blog-a-holic.

There. I've said it.

I feel better.

It's quite pathetic, I know, but in the last week, I bet I've visited about 1,000 blogs. Now that I'm attempting to keep up my own, I find it necessary to keep tabs on literally EVERYONE else in the known world who has a blog.

If you look up at the top of the page in the blogspot tool bar thingie, you'll notice a button that allows you to go to the next blog. Coincidentally, I believe the button is labeled, "Next Blog". I've become quite the fan of the Next Blog button, you see. If you click on that particular button, you will be transported all over the world into the lives of well, strangers. I personally have my blog set so that it will not show up in the "Next Blog" area. But, I have no problem with going and checking out those that are willing to make their lives and photos available to strangers. There are blogs dedicated to selling things (isn't that what eBay stores are for?), for up and coming artists, photographers, singers, actors, etc. The other day I found the blog of a lovely woman from England and for a short time I pretended that I was her best friend. In my mind, I was right there in Herrod's with her. I even spoke in a British accent. Then, there was little Jackson's blog. His mommy is so much cooler than I can ever hope to be. I read about her wedding (it was beautiful, by the way), her pregnancy, the family's big move from Kansas to California. What an exciting life! I finally realized that I have a problem a couple of days ago, when I came across a blog that was written in a foreign language--one of the ones that I cannot read (which is pretty much all of them...). When I caught myself attempting to read the Spanish blog, I decided I was done.

Seriously, I must get a life. As a full-time works outside the home mom, you would think that I'd have better things to do with my time, wouldn't you? Well, I do, but I'm prioritizing (she says as she looks around the basement office/playroom that is littered with shoes and toys). I must find a way to stop myself. I can barely keep up with the friends I have in real life (sorry I didn't call this weekend Beth!), much less keep up with all my new virtual friends (who don't exactly know that they are my friends). So my pledge for the week is to not use the "Next Blog" button. I cannot afford to waste so much time this week. I will stick only to the 3 blogs that I normally check. So, Beth, Bob & Brooke, and Amy P. please keep the entries coming. I gotta get my fix from somewhere!

Ahhh, I feel much better now.

Okay, I'll do what I can. And, on occasion, perhaps I'll write a post in all French, just to make you feel like you hit NEXT BLOG.
